Farmer Notes

17 October 2006

Hi everyone,

This week we're starting to plant garlic, to be completed before the end of the month. Our aim is to plant another six thousand cloves, maybe seven if there's space. Hope you've been enjoying the abundance from last year's planting.

Also this week: Hogs are off to the butcher. We'll keep you updated as to the cuts and prices available for these 400 pound grassfed, all organic grain/vegetables fed pigs. Also planning on butchering the lambs on Wednesday, so if you've ordered a half lamb, be looking for an e-mail/phone call by the end of the week or early next week for pickup from the fridge.

This week's harvest:

Potatoes
Garlic
Celeriac
Spinach/Baby Chard
Lettuce mix
Rutabegas
cilantro
Butternut Squash

Happy eats,
Dan
